First burn rule. Always burn your candle for at least two hours the first time. This allows the melt pool to reach the edges of the jar which sets the candle up for an even burn every time after that.

Trim your wick. Before every burn, trim the wick to 5mm. This keeps the flame at the right height for an even melt pool and the best scent throw.

Avoid drafts. Burning a candle near an open window or fan disrupts the melt pool and reduces scent throw significantly.
